How to Import Canvas grades (.CSV file)

Before performing these actions, make sure to complete grading in the SI Cloud gradebook of the lessons you wish to import. And make sure your Classlist in Canvas matches your Classlist in SI Cloud.

2. Check that you have grade columns and possible points set in your canvas gradebook for each SI Lesson you wish to import.

3. Select the "Export" drop-down, then select "Export Entire Gradebook"

4. Save the .csv file to your desired location

You can use gradebook classic or new gradebook

6. Save the .csv file to your desired location

7. Open both .csv files

8. Starting with the the .csv file from SI Cloud, locate the the first column you wish to import

If the possible points are set to 100 in each SI lesson of your Canvas gradebook skip steps 9-12.

9. In an open cell, type "= (" and highlight the grades from the column.

10. Then continue typing "/100)*[possible points]", hit enter

11. Copy the new data set, and paste it into the corresponding column in the Canvas .csv file

When pasting, right click in the first cell and select "Paste Values" shown in the image below.

12. Repeat steps 9-11 for all other lesson grades you wish to import, and save the Canvas .csv file

14. Select "Choose File"

15. Open the Canvas .csv file you edited and saved

16. Select "Upload"

17. Select "Save Changes", you will be redirected to your gradebook and all lesson grades should be present
