Applying a Policy Set to an Activity

Updated on

Once a policy set has been created, it can be applied to an activity (lesson and/or assignment). Note that multiple policy sets can be implemented in a course - for example, an instructor may have one policy set for lessons and a second policy set for assignment. The number of policy sets created and applied to the activities in a course is up to the discretion of the instructor.

1. On the course homepage, select the "Content Repository."

2. Select the name of the lab that the policy set will be applied to.

When entering the content repository, check that "Current Course" is selected under the Source tab and that "Lessons & Assignments" are selected in the Current Course tab. Then, select the name of the lab that you wish to apply the policy set to.

3. Select the checkbox next to the activity (lesson or assignment) you wish to apply the policy set to.

For Science Interactive-authored content, lessons include the Exploration and Experimentation sections, and are designated by the book icon. Assignments include the Evaluation section and are designated by the pencil icon.

4. Select "Apply Policy Set."

5. Select the policy set to be applied to the activity.

6. Select "Apply" to apply the policy set.

Once a policy set has been selected, a read-only preview will be displayed. Make sure you have selected the correct policy set, then select "Apply."

7. Upon hitting apply, you will receive a confirmation that the policy set has been applied to the activity.

8. Repeat this process to apply the policy set to any other activities.
