A policy set is a predefined collection of properties applied to an activity (lesson and/or assignment) that controls how a student is able to complete and review their attempt at that activity. These can be created in the SI Lab Portal Content Repository, and are stored as supplementary content. Once created, a policy set can be applied to selected activities within the content repository.
A single policy set can be applied to all activities within a course, or multiple policy sets can be applied. For example, an instructor may choose to have one policy set for lessons and one for assignments.
You can also create and apply a unique policy set to a single activity through the lesson editor.
2. Create a new policy set.
There are two ways to create a new policy set. The first way is to select the blue "Create New" dropdown, and then select policy set.

Alternatively, select "Current Course" under the Sources tab if not already selected. Then select "Policy Sets" under the Current Class tab, followed by "Create New."

3. Create a name for your policy set in the policy set editor pop-up.
A policy set cannot be saved unless it has a defined name!
4. Set the policies for your course and lessons.
There are four sections that go into the policy set. They are:
- General Properties - Controls number of attempts, time limits, and when lessons are visible to students.
- Feedback (During) - Controls what grading and feedback information students can view while working on a lesson.
- Feedback (After) - Controls what grading and feedback information students can view after a lesson is graded.
- Only Applicable to Lessons - Controls when a lesson is considered complete and how students submit lessons.
