A policy set is a predefined collection of properties applied to an activity (lesson and/or assignment) that controls how a student is able to complete and review their attempt at that activity. Once created, these can be modified over time to ensure your course is tailored to your desired teaching methods.
This article will cover how to edit a policy set. To create a new policy set, review Creating a Policy Set in SI Lab Portal.
2. Select "Policy Sets" under the Current Class tab, then select the policy set of interest.

4. Confirm that you want to edit the policy set.
If the policy set you are editing was created in a parent course, you will need to confirm that you want to edit the policy set. This confirmation will create a clone containing the modified policy set.
Note that the modified policy set will automatically be applied to all lessons using the original policy set in your course and any child courses. You will retain a copy of the original policy set in your Content Repository.

5. Modify the policy set as needed.
Modify any necessary components of the policy set. For more information on a particular policy option, see the Overview of SI Lab Portal Lesson Policy Options.
7. If the policy set being edited is already applied to an activity, confirm that you wish the policy set to be applied.
Upon selecting confirm, your new policy set will be saved and applied to all lessons within your existing course and any child courses.
If the policy set being edited is applied to an activity with existing student attempts (complete or in progress), you have the option to update these existing attempts by selecting the "Update Existing Attempts" check box and then selecting confirm. All policy edits will be updated EXCEPT for the Time LImit.
