How to Import D2L grades (.CSV file)

Before performing these actions, make sure to complete grading in the SI Cloud gradebook of the lessons you wish to import. And make sure your Classlist in D2L matches your Classlist in SI Cloud.

2. Check that you have grade columns and possible points set in your D2L gradebook for each SI Lesson you wish to import.

3. Select "Export"

4. Select check boxes of everything you want to export, then select "Export to CSV"

5. Select "Download"

6. Save the .csv file to your desired location

You can use gradebook classic or new gradebook

8. Save the .csv file to your desired location

9. Open both .csv files

10. Starting with the the .csv file from SI Cloud, locate the the first column you wish to import

If the possible points are set to 100 in each SI lesson of your D2L gradebook skip steps 9-12.

11. In an open cell, type "= (" and highlight the grades from the column.

12. Then continue typing "/100)*[possible points]", hit enter

13. Copy the new data set, and paste it into the corresponding column in the D2L .csv file

When pasting, right click in the first cell and select "Paste Values" shown in the image below.

14. Repeat steps 10-13 for all other lesson grades you wish to import, and save the D2L .csv file

16. Select "Choose File", then check "Create new grade item when an unrecognized item is referenced"

17. Open the D2L .csv file you edited and saved

18. Check "Create new grade item when an unrecognized item is referenced", then select "Continue"

19. If any errors are detected they will display in "Step 2." If there are no errors, select "Continue"

20. Preview import and select "Import"

21. Import will process, you will be redirected to your gradebook and all lesson grades should be present
