Once the SI Lab Portal LTI placement is configured, it can be added to a Blackboard Learn course to automatically create links to SI Lab Portal alongside other course content.
Please ensure that the instructions are followed to allow for proper functionality between the LMS and Lab Portal. Failure to follow the instructions will result in no grade pass back and other limited functionality. If assistance is needed, please reach out to the Science Interactive Implementation team.
IMPORTANT: The integration between Blackboard Learn and SI Lab Portal should be tested by adding the placement and linking to a SI Lab Portal assignment, completing the assignment as a student, and checking that grades are pushed back to the Blackboard Learn Grade Center.
To use the configured LTI placement to add a SI Lab Portal activity link to your Blackboard Learn course:
1. Open your Blackboard Learn course and click Content.

2. Click Build Content and select the configured LTI placement from the drop-down menu.

TIP: If you don't see the Build Content menu as an instructor in your Blackboard Learn class, make sure that Edit Mode is turned on.

3. The SI Lab Portal mapping menu will appear in a new window for configuration of the link destination.
Check out the following for details on completing this configuration:
- Activity Mapping: for details on linking to individual SI Lab Portal activities
- Class Homepage Mapping: for details on how to create a link that takes a user directly to the Class Homepage in SI Lab Portal, rather than individual lessons
- Gradebook Mapping: for details to create an LTI link directly to the class gradebook
- System Homepage Mapping: for details on how to create an LTI link that takes a user directly to the System Homepage

4. Refresh the Content page once the mapping has been completed, to find the tool provider content added to your Blackboard Learn course.

TIP: You can click the item options button next to the link for options to control link availability in Blackboard Learn.
