Navigating the SI Lab Portal System Homepage

Updated on

Upon logging into the SI Lab Portal, you will enter into the System Homepage. The System Homepage is the hub for all of your current courses and the main access point to the other pages in the SI Lab Portal. This article will review the functionality of the System Homepage.

System Homepage Display

The System Homepage displays the following information:

  1. Science Interactive Lab Portal Logo - Click at any time to return to the System Homepage.
  2. Home Icon - Click at any time to return to the System Homepage.
  3. Breadcrumb - Informs you of what page you are on and can be clicked on to return to a specific page in the breadcrumb trail.
  4. Class List Pane - Directory of all classes that you are associated with.
  5. Menus - System Homepage menus for system-related functions dependent on your system role.
  6. System Calendar - Calendar that displays all scheduled dates for all of your classes.
Class List Pane

The Class List pane is a directory of all classes that you are associated with. Select a course from within this pane to enter into the Course Homepage.

Note: Your default user role in the SI Lab Portal is an instructor. These courses will appear under "Classes Where My Role Is Instructor." However, you may have class roles in specific classes that are different from your system role. This means that certain classes will display under different headings in the Class List pane

For example, if you have a system role of instructor but have also enrolled as a student in a specific class within your organization, the class that you are enrolled in as a student is listed under the heading Classes I Am Taking.

System Calendar

The System Calendar displays all class events and activity dates that are relevant to the classes you are associated with, including start and due dates.
